Dear Women of South Hill,

Our Women's Ministries  theme at SHCC for 2010-2011 is "Keeping the Faith!" In a day when Christianity is constantly challenged, ridiculed and scrutinized, we felt it important that the focus of our year be to equip women in the faith. In Matthew 24 Jesus tells us that in the last days people will come “so as to mislead, if possible, eventhe elect.” This deception can be blatant, but can also be so subtle. We must work together to keep it from taking root in our hearts!

With this in mind, we will take part in our church’s launch into Vision 2014 this September.  This vision will reinforce the mission statement of our church: "The Mission of South Hill Christian Church is to be a caring community where lives are changed through knowing Christ, growing in Christ and going with Christ to others. Thus the theme of "Keeping the Faith!"  will result in these action steps: "Know, Grow, and Go!"  At the end of this year may we be able to say with Paul “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Tim 4:7)

This year, ladies, may we be equipped in keeping the faith as we know the Lord, grow in Him, and go and share Him with others!

Looking forward to “Keeping the Faith” with you!

 God bless!

Bridging the Gap

A casual drop-in group for ladies (children welcome)

  • Purpose:  To fulfill some of God's direction in women's ministry by praying for one another.
  • Providing a team to meet prayed for needs within the church body and/or community (organizing meals for the sick, mailing projects)-and building stronger relationships amongst our ladies.
Meeting: At least one Friday morning per month (or more often as needed)
  •  If you've been to our group before, you know how casual it is - so those of you who haven't come yet, do not be intimidated one little bit:)  Just come, relax, and enjoy!  If you haven't been in awhile....please come back!  We miss you!

Women's Retreat

This year our Spring retreat was held at Black Lake Christian Conference Center. The theme was "Get Real!"  And we really did!

Our spring retreat is always a high point of the year for the ladies and this year was no exception. Take a look at this year's retreat as the women enjoyed wonderful fellowship, teaching, skits, and activities while getting away from the stresses of everyday life!

  Christmas Tea

South Hill Christian Church's Annual Christmas Tea took place on Monday, December 7, 2009. Known for its special place in the community, the Christmas Tea ushers in the holiday season by bringing the touch of Christ's birth to the women in our area.

This year's theme was "Real Joy!" as we looked at Christ's birth from the perspective of the angels. The evening included special music, drama performances, refreshments, and a traditional favorite:  the singing of Christmas Carols.
